The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases – 26 May

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

We’ve been lusting after Jenerates tools for some time now, and when we saw them IRL at the Stitch Festival we just knew we needed to bring them to the Fold Line shop!

Founded by Jen Hogg (Sewing Bee 2019 alumni) in 2020, the designs of unique sewing tools are quite something. Rather than the usual plastic, most of Jenerates tools are lovingly crafted from cherry wood veneer and are made in Scotland. 📐

They don’t just look beautiful (although that helps!), they are thoughtfully designed to provide you with just what you need. We have specially branded Fold Line goodies which we hope you love as much as we do!

Tammy Handmade Gia Dress: This pattern makes me feel very nostalgic. This was my teenage go-to for summer wear! Gia is a stretch midi dress pattern with a figure-hugging silhouette and side-leg slits. The slightly curved neckline and armholes are finished with binding for a pop of personality and flair. The bodice includes a shelf bra for added support.

Itch to Stitch Algarve Top: What a lovely top to sew for summer outfits! Simple yet stylish, you could style this top with practically anything, but it would look especially good tucked into shorts or a skirt. The pattern also includes regular and full bust options for a customised fit. Designed for lightweight knit fabrics, this versatile top will become a wardrobe staple.

Dhurata Davies Patterns Whisper Slippers: Fancy ticking the practical-yet-scrap busting box? Check out this slipper sewing pattern! These lightweight bedroom slippers are ideal for taking on your travels and saying goodbye to disposable hotel slippers. Perfect for using leftover fabric, the Whisper Slippers are a scrap-busting dream and make a thoughtful gift for family and friends or overnight guests. Suitable for adventurous beginners and experienced sewists alike.

Lou Orth Designs Divided Drawstring Pouch: A highly useful project for any avid sewer – this cute little drawstring bag has a slip pocket divider in the middle that goes all the way to the bottom, keeping everything in its place. It’s perfect for organising and storing your latest craft project or supplies. Or batch sew a few and keep a stash of them for gifting.

Bobbins and Buttons Claire Top: If you fancy sewing a hassle-free, easy-fitting top this is a great option. Claire features a softly gathered neckline and raglan sleeves or short flutter sleeves.
