New Sewing Patterns

The Edit: Sewing Pattern Releases – 24th July 2022

Calling all fellow sewing pattern nerds… we’ve got a brand new weekly blog and vlog where we share all the juicy details on some of the sewing pattern releases of the week. Introducing, The Edit… a round-up of some of our highlights of the week – basically, all the stuff team Fold Line is lusting over that has hit the online sewing pattern shop. We will be talking about all the exciting new things in a little more detail (because it’s all about those details!).

If you like a little company while you sew and want to keep up with the hot releases in the sewing world, you might want to hit subscribe and never miss a thing.

Exciting news! The first-ever collection of PDF sewing patterns from Simplicity can be purchased from our shop with copyshop printing included. What’s more, there’s a great freebie pattern to download that might help you use up some fabric remnants!

There are ten women’s patterns in the collection and two gorgeous children’s designs – plus a fabulous freebie pattern you won’t want to miss! The PDF patterns come with A4/US letter print-at-home and A0 copy shop files.

You can purchase the PDF pattern on its own or add our copy shop service and we will print the pattern and pop it in the post for you, complete with a free envelope to store it in!

Women’s pattern sizing: UK 4/6–22 (compared to our standardised size chart)

These adorable dresses are perfect for parties and play! The Party Dress features a princess-seamed bodice and pleated skirt and is perfect for pairing with brocade fabric. The Boho Dress gathered smock dress has a back button closure, front and back yoke, and would look lovely in linen fabric.

Children’s sizing: Ages 3 – 8 years

We’ve had a delivery of the new issue of Tauko Magazine which is simply bursting at the seams with sewing projects! This issue is perfect for packing along with your picnic to lose yourself in some peaceful reading while you dream up which pattern you are going to make first.

This issue is dedicated to the fungi world, understanding mycorrhiza and introducing the basics for creating natural dyes with mushrooms (how cool is that?!) and the designs are inspired by the fungi and plant world.

There are TEN sewing patterns included in the magazine ready for tracing off. The patterns come with many variations for differently skilled sewists and include UK sizes 6-32.

We have a brilliant new pattern from Anna Allen to share with you that is a MUST for any budding jean-makers! The Helene Selvedge Jeans are based on heritage denim jeans from the 1930s-1960s and packed with all the details you could hope for from a premium pair of jeans…

? Traditional five-pocket styling including two front scoop pockets, a coin pocket inside the right front pocket, and two pointed patch pockets on the back
? Slight hip shaping while keeping the side selvedge seams unaltered from hip to hem
? A V-shaped back yoke and a traditional straight waistband with belt loops
? Instructions that detail how to install a concealed button fly and a zipper fly
? Four leg style options are included: View A – Straight, View B – Slim Straight, View C – Wide, and View D – Shorts

The Helene Jeans come in a NEW size range: UK 6 – 22 or UK 16 – 32

Function meets form with Closet Core Patterns Faye Swimsuit, a versatile fully lined costume with multiple options so you can create a full wardrobe of swimwear. Faye features a clean finish and minimalist lines with a lovely scoop neckline and a slightly cheeky cut.

Women wearing the Myka Top sewing pattern from Tessuti Fabrics on The Fold Line. A t-shirt pattern made in cotton/elastane French terry or firm knit jersey fabrics featuring an oversized boxy fit, high round neckline, self-fabric neck band, loose elbow-length raglan sleeves, shoulder darts, wide sleeve bands and deep hem.

We’ve added an achingly cool Tessuti Fabrics pattern to the shop that’s too good not to share! The Myka Top is an oversized, boxy knit top that has a high, round neckline with a self-fabric neckband. It features loose elbow-length raglan sleeves with shoulder darts and wide sleeve bands. The second picture above shows the Myka worn with the Robbie Pants – it’s a winning combination! It can easily be turned into a breezy dress with a simple hack, it really is a lovely design!

Sizing: UK 8/10 – 24 / Format: Paper

Great news for paper pattern lovers, we’ve recently added copies of the popular Saguaro pattern to the shop!

The Friday Pattern Company Saguaro Set is easy to sew and fun to wear with endless options for customisation. The pants feature roomy pockets and a waistband with a drawstring. The top has a plunging V neckline that includes an optional tie closure. You can wear the top forwards or backwards – it’s just so versatile and is a smash with the sewing community already!

Sizing: UK 6 – 34 / Format: Paper and PDF
