Attending a wedding this summer and unsure of what to wear? Look no further! Whether you prefer dresses, jumpsuits, tailoring, or co-ords, we've got you covered with some stylish outfit ideas to help you look your best on the big day. I've gone through everything in detail in the video and linked to all the patterns below.

Dresses:

Dresses are a classic choice for a summer wedding and we've got some of our favorites below.

If you love a wrap dress then check out these three options. They all have a slight twist on the classic shape:

Closet Core Elodie

Maison Fauve Soho

Papercut Meridian

Sometimes we just want a simple shape that you can add some fun accessories to. I particularly love the back of the Ramona dress.

Tessuti Alessi

Fibre Mood Ramona

If you love a big sleeve as much as I do then you are in for a treat. All completely different silhouettes depending on what you are looking for.

Vikisews Rosalyn

Silversaga Ella

Emporia Penelope

Gathering is a fun skill to learn and it always creates a dramatic shape. I've got three of my favorite patterns with gathering at their core

Nina Lee Mariposa

Fabric Godmother Fleur

Puff and Pencil Ruffle

Finally we've got your favourite patterns, these are tried and tested favorites from the sewing community

Fabric Godmother Peony

Masin Sicily Slip

Named Kielo

Jumpsuits

A fun option for a wedding, something about jumpsuits that make me feel a bit naughty when you wear them.. like you cheated the system.

I tried to pick three different shapes that would all work well for a wedding

Vogue V9259

Sew Longe Springe

True Bias Darla

Tailoring

If you prefer a two piece, opt for a tailored blazer and trousers combo. Another fantastic option is to wear a waistcoat with said trousers.

I love wearing a suit to a wedding it's so much much more comfortable. All the pieces can be worn separately. These are three of my favourites

Vikisews Nancy Jacket & Daphna Trousers

Maison Fauve Mimosa jacket  and Grand Bain Shorts

Nina Lee Richmond jacket and Portobello trousers

I  love the idea of a waistcoat and a pair of trousers, I've got two different options for the trousers, the Style Arc ones, in particular, have lovely detailing so go check them out.

Puff and Pencil Waistcoat

Style Arc Atlas

Merchant and Mills Juno

Chic Co-ords

Co-ords are a versatile option for a summer wedding ad also mean you can wear the pieces separately. I've included some patterns that are co-ord sets alongside some mix and match options. Sometimes it's nice to get all your patterns out and see what you have and look at them in a new way.

I love indie designers that offer co-ord sets, so handy to get two patterns that can be wor separately, making then great value for you wardrobe.

BF Patterns Selena

Chalk and Notch Ivie

Friday Pattern Patterns Saturday Set

I also started making my own co-ord sets which was fun, sometimes it's nice to look at patterns in different ways. You could even do this with patterns to already own.

Bella Love Freddie & Tilly and the Buttons Ramona

Sew Over It Emily & McCalls M7937

Fibre Mood Abina & The Maker's Atelier Maxi

Remember, the most important thing is to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. Choose an outfit that makes you feel your best so you can enjoy the celebration without any wardrobe worries.
