It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

This week, I'll be flicking through an autumnal new edition of Fibre Mood magazine, sharing a new barrel-leg trouser to love and zooming in on a unisex shirt & shorts set.⁠ 

Fibre Mood Magazine Edition 35

A new edition of Fibre Mood magazine has landed, and this one has a clever twist. The designs are split into garment families, so you can pick your favourite, or delve deeper into one style and create multiple takes on the same wardrobe staple.

This issue has 17 patterns and style variations for elegant, trendy and comfortable items for autumn! The magazine includes patterns for jackets, sweaters, shirts, tops and trousers.

Itch to Stitch Sorata Dress

Sorata is everything you want in a summer dress — breezy, feminine, and effortlessly chic. A slip-on design with no closures, getting dressed is as simple as stepping in and heading out. It features a V-neckline, elasticised waist with three rows of elastic, and optional in-seam pockets. You have a few options to pick and mix from (length, ruffles, armholes, sleeves), and the pattern comes with cup size options for a perfect fit.

Tilly and the Buttons Winnie Trousers

Have you been waiting to jump on the barrel leg trend? We have another indie pattern option to try, and this one has a subtle take on the silhouette. Tilly and the Buttons Winnie Trousers feature a soft, barrel leg trouser with forward side seam and comfy flat-fronted elasticated waistband. The comprehensive instructions make it a great choice for sewing your first pair of trousers.
