Kate Underdown

Happy Sunday Fold Liners! It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

If you like a little company while you sew and want to keep up with the hot releases.  You might want to hit subscribe and never miss a thing.

The latest release from Named is just perfect for cosy nights on the sofa… or at the sewing machine! Introducing Olo – a relaxed but elegant set that consists of a long sleeve tee and wide-leg pants.

We particularly love the dainty rolled-hem detail and the fact that the pants have no side seams.

You can buy the patterns as a set (in paper or PDF format), or snap up the tee and pants separately in PDF format.

Sizing: UK 4/6 – 26

Format: Paper and PDF (set) or individual patterns PDF

If you too are part of the dungaree appreciation society, you are going to love this pattern! Say hello to the True Bias Riley Overalls, a thoughtful design that will be part of your regular outfit rotation.

This classic overall pattern has a relaxed fit and plenty of cool design details, such as the patch pockets and bib, belt loops and faux fly. You can make full-length or short overalls. I am definitely putting this one on my sewing list!

We’ve got three lovely new Liesl + Co patterns to share with you that will become absolute staples in your wardrobe.

The Peckham Trousers are classic in their design with tons of details and a focus on fit. They look dressy, but feel more like sweatpants – perfect for the festive season!

We often get emails asking for a simple A-line skirt, so we think this could be a staple in many handmade wardrobes. The Garibaldi is a classic A-line skirt with a side zipper and a choice of pockets or no pockets for a clean finish. You have a choice of three skirt lengths, so you will make this again and again!

If you love whipping up basic jersey tops, the Strasbourg Henley Bodysuit + Top pattern looks like an addictive sew. The close-fitting V-neck Henley style has three buttons at the front placket. You can make it as a bodysuit that will be great for layering or a top pattern. I think this would look great in stripes!

Format: PDF (Paper coming soon)

If you’re after a pretty frock for parties, dinners and just generally feeling fancy, the Bella Loves Patterns Linda Dress could hit the spot! Linda is a column dress that is fitted at the waistline and features pretty puffy elasticated sleeves.

The cut-out cups with rouleau ties accentuate the bustline and it has a scoop back neck, side fish-eye darts and invisible zip closure. Linda’s skirt has a straight silhouette with a side slit. It could be a great pattern to make for party season!
Sizing: UK 6 – 22 in two height groups
Format: PDF

Want to make cardigans for the whole crew? Waves & Wild have just added this trio of patterns which would make perfect gifts if you like sewing things for loved ones. The Salt Air Cardigan comes in women’s, men’s and children’s sizes and is a style you will make again and again!
Sizing: Women’s – UK 6 – 34/36 / Men’s XXS – 7XL / Baby/Child – Preemie/small newborn – 12 years
