THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 12 JULY

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know, so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

This week, we have an exciting Edit lineup for you! We're introducing a new tank top to sew, as well as a beautifully designed summer dress that includes bust cup options—how great is that? Plus, if you missed out on our Sewing Weekender exclusive pattern, you can finally get your hands on it!

Modern Sewing Co. Rowan Skirt

The Rowan Skirt is a unique and playful design that's fun to wear while also including some thoughtful and functional design details. The gathered side pocket openings with adjustable ties flow into an A-line silhouette that sits just below the natural waist. They are beautiful and useful.

Chalk and Notch Bora Dress

If you prefer a more tailored style of dress, this summery design is just the ticket. The fitted bodice features princess seaming, and bust cup options (A-D) are included for a custom fit. What's more, the skirt pieces can be cut on the straight or bias grain - great news if you like to play with stripes!

Matchy Matchy Sunny Side Tank

Tank tops are trending, so this new arrival is sure to please. Featuring a true cropped length to pair with your favourite high-waisted bottoms, it has a loose, relaxed fit with a flowing A-line shape that allows for plenty of movement and breathability on warm days.

Style Arc Hamilton Swin Set

If you fancy adding handmade swimwear to your wardrobe, this is a great pattern to choose as it includes so many variations. The versatile one-piece and two-piece swimwear pattern features mix-and-match options, including square neck, V-neck or daring plunge and high or low-waisted bottoms and high or low-cut legs.

Madalynne Lexee Corset Dress

Lexee is a romantic, corset-inspired duster dress featuring a lace-up front bodice with metal grommets and a softly gathered skirt. The design includes voluminous long sleeves with subtle ruching and dramatic bell cuffs that add movement and elegance. The open-front skirt creates a layered effect and flows into a full maxi length.

Notches Tiki Trousers and Shorts

Tiki is your go-to pattern for modern comfort with a fashion-forward twist. Choose between a statement barrel-leg trouser or an easy-wearing pair of shorts, both designed with a relaxed fit, effortless style, and all-day comfort in mind. The barrel shape is created through the cleverly designed inner leg panel and curved seams.

Tammy Handmade Cloud Tee

Every wardrobe needs a collection of tees, and Cloud is your boxy T-shirt of dreams! This comfy T-shirt features an oversized silhouette, dropped shoulders, a wide neckband, and deep hems for a trendy look. The pattern includes three sleeve length options.

Sewing Therapy Bridge Bag

Our Sewing Weekender exclusive pattern - the Bridge Bag - can now be snapped up by one and all! The bumps of the striking twin-peak silhouette are connected by innovative elastic bridges, which maintain the bag's structure and keep contents secure while providing the flexibility to expand when you need to reach inside.

Merchant & Mills Mish Mash Cushion

Mix things up, sew a simple cushion, while tackling your scrap pile. You can choose from a rectangular envelope cushion with flaps at each end or a square zipped cushion with four flaps, one on each side. This is a great pattern for playing with fabric combinations and using up offcuts. The best fabric combinations are the unexpected ones!

Lou Orth Designs Wildflower Meadow Quilt

This traditionally pieced design features a scattering of flower blocks arranged on point, creating a fresh and playful layout that showcases your favourite fabric combinations. Whether you choose soft and subtle prints, bold modern colours, or treasured scraps, this versatile (and FQ-friendly) pattern allows you to make the design uniquely your own.

I hope you enjoyed that edit of new arrivals. I'll see you next week for another update.
