Buy the Tiki Trousers and Shorts sewing pattern from Notches. Tiki is your go-to pattern for modern comfort with a fashion-forward twist. Choose between a statement barrel leg trouser or an easy-wearing pair of shorts, both designed with a relaxed fit, effortless style, and all-day comfort in mind.

The barrel shape is created through the cleverly designed inner leg panel and curved seams, which add volume without feeling bulky. Tiki features an elastic waistband for maximum comfort, a mock fly, and side pockets. The trousers are ankle length. The shorts can be made in a shorter or longer length, and the shorter version has an optional ruffle at the hem for an extra feminine touch.

Suggested fabrics: For the trousers, it’s best to choose a fabric with enough structure to maintain the barrel shape. Fabrics such as denim, linen, seersucker, canvas, or cotton twill are ideal. For the shorts, you can opt for a lightweight and fluid fabric if you want to create an airy summer version or comfortable pyjama shorts.

Fabric requirements: 

Trousers: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 280 - 300 cm (3 - 3 1/4 yd).

Long shorts: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 165 - 190 cm (1 3/4 - 2 1/8 yd).

Short shorts with ruffle: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 200 - 220 cm (2 1/8 - 2 3/8 yd).

Sizing: XS – 6XL / EU 34 – 62 (approx. UK 6 – 34/36, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
