THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES - 1 SEPTEMBER

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

The best things come in threes - fact! The latest trio from The Assembly Line feature clean lines, clever pattern cutting and simple styles that will slot into any modern wardrobe. The pencil skirt might be handy if you are sewing "back to work" pieces.

Barrel Sleeve Dress: The midi length skirt features a barrel-like shape and side seam pockets. The bodice can be sewn with sculpted batwing sleeves that complement the shape of the skirt, or it can be sleeveless.

Pencil SkirtThis timeless fitted midi skirt has a back zip closure. To ensure a great fit, the pattern includes four darts in the front and four in the back. While it has a regular waist, it can be customised with add-ons for curvy and straight silhouettes.

Drop-waist Dress: Features gathers along the front neckline and a keyhole opening with a ribbon tie at the back. You can also easily extend the top to your desired length and add bias binding or a statement ruffle at the hem (described as a hack in the assembly instructions).

Puff and Pencil Halter Top: This Y2K throwback is close-fitting with scarves that hang down at the front and back. Darts and seams provide shaping, and the top is fully lined with the same fabric as the outer.

Puff and Pencil Halter Top & Copenhagen Skirt: Go for the full look with this bundle which includes the halter top and a copy of the Copenhagen Skirt pattern. The assymetric wrap skirt can be worn on its own over trousers for a true 90s/00s look.

Silversaga Patterns Emma DressGot room for one more romantic summer dress? Emma features a sweetheart neckline, and elastic channels for comfortable shaping. What's more, the pattern includes A-F bust cup sizes to help achieve a great fit.

How to Do Fashion No. 31 Firenze Jacket and Shirt: Love the cut of 1940s clothes? This short jacket and shirt pattern is inspired by the working woman of the early 1940s. The beautiful collar frames the face, and the gathered details give this style a feminine touch. It is classic but also feels modern enough to slot into everyday wear.

JULIANA MARTEJEVS Helena Headband: Hunting for a super simple way to use up awkward jersey scraps? Perhaps you want to help get a young sewer started with an easy and satisfying project? This headband pattern can be sewn wide or narrow and could even be co-ordinates with your outfit.

True Bias Lander Expansion Pack: The iconic Lander Pants pattern has an add-on update for sale! This expansion turns your button fly Lander into a zip fly short or pant.

That's your lot for this week, we will be back with a fresh pattern Edit in a week's time. Have a lovely Sunday team!
