Buy the 8509 vintage coat or jacket sewing pattern from Simplicity. It’s perfect for an intermediate dressmaker. This roomy Misses’ Vintage coat or jacket with shawl collar is straight from the 1950s. Coat, View A has three-quarter length raglan sleeves with turn-back cuffs. Jacket, View B has long raglan sleeves with turn back cuffs. Welt pockets trim Views B and C. View C closes with one button at neck and has a band at lower edge of the one-piece raglan sleeves.

Suggested fabrics: Faille, linen types, pique, sateen, taffeta, wool types. B also in low pile faux fur.

Sizing: H5 (6-8-10-12-14) R5 (14-16-18-20-22), approx. UK sizes H5 (4/6 – 10), R5 (10– 18/20). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread. One pair of 1/2″ thick raglan shoulder pads, one pkg of 1/4″ wide twill tape, two pkgs of 1/2″ wide hem tape. B: Three 1 ” buttons. C: One 1″ button.
