Stripy Gertrude Designer Dress

A review of Style Arc Gertrude Designer Dress

The Gertrude Designer Dress is a fun and a bit challenging sew with lots of interesting lines. I should have picked a size closer to my upper body measurements, as the size 10 was too big. (My hips are a size 14 but there’s plenty of room for them in the size 10 dress.) It really looks best when it’s more fitted at the top, or at least it did on me. So I sewed in most of them seams, which was a bit of a hassle but not the pattern’s fault. I choose to make the sleeves without the pleats. I also skipped the pockets, as I think it will ruin the exaggerated hip curve. The fabric is a linen/rayon blend which was a great choice for this dress. Some drape and some structure at the same time. Here’s a link to more photos and info on my IG.
