Folkwear Two Middies – a straightforward and satisfying pattern

A review of Folkwear 211 Unisex Two Middies

I made View B of Folkwear’s ‘Two Middies’ pattern, in textured grey and blue cotton shirting from AmoThreads.
I graded from size L chest to XL waist and hips – and in the end decided to leave the buttons off the hip band because it felt more flattering to my torso shape with the waist hanging loose. I added lightweight fusible interfacing to the collar; I think in this fabric it would have been too flappy without.

I found the instructions easy to follow and I’m really pleased with the result. I’ve already worn it several times: it feels just a bit more interesting than the usual range of shirts and kurtas.

I intend to make it again in a heavier fabric, perhaps with three quarter length sleeves for autumn.
