Betty Dress – Sew Over It

The pattern layout and instructions to make this dress are excellent. Simple to follow, clear and concise. Sadly, for me, the bodice is a train wreck. The neckline sits proud of the chest and the shoulder straps are so wide they do not sit neatly with my bra straps and constantly fall of my shoulders. It appears from other reviews that general sizing is an issue with this pattern. I made a size 12 based on my measurements at the time but it is really rather too big, not withstanding the width issues with the bodice. The skirt is a good circle skirt, I added inseam pockets using a tutorial from the Sewaholic blog, which could easily be added quite neatly to an alternative bodice pattern. I did approach the designers for assistance but, unfortunately, my email remains unanswered. I don’t think I will be purchasing from this company again.
