Sew Over It Betty Dress

Buy the Betty Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. Make yourself a beautiful 1950s inspired dress based on the style of Betty Draper! With a fitted bodice and full circle skirt, Betty nips you in at the waist then flares out to create a beautiful silhouette. The dress fastens with an invisible zip down the centre back. It has facings around the neckline and armholes and a machine finished hem.

Note: Use the Betty Dress Add-on Pack (sold separately) to sew even more versions of Betty! The pack includes options for a V-neck or scoop neck bodice, with or without short or 3/4 length sleeves.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics with some stability such as cotton, cotton lawn, cotton poplin, stretch cotton, cotton sateen, linen, chambray and stable crepes. Avoid rayon, viscose and anything particularly fluid.

Fabric requirements: Avoid directional/one-way designs due to the circle skirt.

Sizes 6 – 20

1.15 m wide fabric: 3.5 – 4.0 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 2.8 – 3.0 m.

Sizes 18 – 30

1.15 m wide fabric: 4.2 – 5.0 m // 1.40 m wide fabric: 3.5 – 4.2 m.

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 16″ invisible zip; small hook and eye (optional).
