This is a lovely pattern and very easy to follow with lots of potential to take it in different directions. I cut out one day and made it up another day. There are two leg styles: wide and tapered.

I made it up in a lightweight drapey viscose challis for my daughter who is wearing it in the photo. I find it tricky sewing for someone else because she was not there for several fitting sessions. However, the  fabric is generous in the bodice and legs so the fit is quite forgiving even getting the waist in the right place. The channel for the waistband elastic is quite wide so the elastic finds the natural wearer's waist easily. The long zip was a challenge and I didn't manage to insert it with an "invisible" method. The fabric I chose is quite busy so this didn't really matter.

I am glad I chose a light weight fabric because there is a lot of fabric to gather into the neckband which also becomes the neck tie. It is quite narrow so you don't want bulky fabric. The raglan sleeves are lovely.

The only change I made was to not gather the sleeve hems, we both thought that mirroring the wide legs looked more balanced. Of course that does mean that the sleeves will flap about. With this is mind I made them slighty shorter.

My daughter is planning to wear it to casual get-togethers this Christmas holiday. The fabric is light but generous so it has some warmth. Or she said she might wear tights and a vest underneath and they probably won't show. But she could just as easily carry it off in the summer lounging around. Viscose challis is lovely to wear next to the skin.

All in all, I think a drapey fabric is important to do the cut justice. I would rate it confident beginner.
