Buy the Blake Skirt sewing pattern from Vikisews. Blake is a semi-fitted, slightly flared skirt with a straight silhouette. The waist is finished with a facing with no separate waistband. The front and back feature waist darts and centre seams, with an invisible zipper and a neatly finished slit in the centre back seam. The skirt has pockets in the side seams and is finished with a free-hanging lining. Blake is midi length.

Suggested fabrics: Dress-weight wool, suiting fabrics.

For the lining, choose lining fabrics made of artificial fibres (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).

The skirt in the cover photo is made of suiting fabric. The fabric is medium weight, drapey, soft, structured, and has very little stretch. The fibre content is a blend of 56% polyester, 24% artificial cotton, 18% wool and 2% spandex. The lining is 100% viscose.

Fabric requirements: When purchasing fabric, buy 5% more than required to account for shrinkage.

Main: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 0.96 - 1.94 m (1 - 2 1/8 yd) // 150 cm (59") wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 0.96 - 1.56 m (1 - 1 3/4 yd).

Lining: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 0.8 - 1.73 m (7/8 - 1 7/8 yd).

Sizing: 34 – 52 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

The PDF pattern includes 4 height options:

Height 1 = 154 – 160 cm (5’1″ – 5’3″)
Height 2 = 162 – 168 cm (5’4″ – 5’6″)
Height 3 = 170 – 176 cm (5’7″ – 5’9″)
Height 4 = 178 – 184 cm (5’10” – 6′1″)

Model Evgenia: Height 176 cm (5'9") / Bust 84 cm (33 1/8") / Waist 60 cm (23 5/8") / Hips 91 cm (35 7/8"). Evgenia is wearing size 36 in height 3.

Model Yana: Height 174 cm (5'8") / Bust 107 cm (42 1/8") / Waist 87 cm (34 1/4") / Hips 122 cm (48"). For Yana, the designer combined sizes 48 for the waist and 52 for the hips in height 3.

Notions: 

– Lightweight knit or woven interfacing, 140 cm (55") wide, 0.5 m (1/2 yd)
– One invisible zipper, 25 cm (9 7/8") long
– Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape, 1 - 1.5 cm (3/8" - 5/8") wide, 1.1 m (1 1/4 yd)
