Torino Vest

It’s a very innovative style for a vest. Construction is straightforward and the instructions are clear. Only 3 pieces and a loop.

But it is very wasteful of fabric. Unless you are the smallest size, the back, front and front panel/collar piece don’t fit side by side on the fabric. 2 pieces can be side by side, and the third needs its own length in fabric. I was left with a lot of unused fabric but I can squeeze out a sleeveless top from it.
I redrafted the collar so the shawl collar was wider, and sat better.
It’s a quick make, especially if you replace the welt pockets with patch pockets, as I did.

I love wearing it, and it’s different. The pattern is expensive, and you can easily be left with a lot of leftover fabric.
