Learnt a new skill - a fly fastening

My first time making a garment with a front fly, I made the shorts from this pattern for my husband. He chose a denim which proved tricky at times due to the thickness of the layers. In the end I needed to handstitch the inside of the waistband as it was just too thick to go under the foot once it was folded over. Also the belt loops were to be folded and folded again so 4 layers. I had to unpick them, and trim them so there were only 3 layers. I took my time and followed the instructions for the fly and am proud with the way it turned out. I added about 3cm to the length as he is a tall lad. I cut a 44 and had to take in at the top of the back and side seams and make the same adjustments on the waistband. He has lost weight recently and if I were to make another's pair I would probably go down 2 sizes. I've given it 4 stats as i think it is a pretty good pattern despite the difficulty due to fabrication choice.
