Buy the S9868 Apron and Potholder sewing pattern from Simplicity. It’s perfect for an advanced beginner dressmaker. Vintage Simplicity 1970's aprons in sizes small to x-large and potholder sewing pattern. Apron views 1 and 2 with lowered round neckline encased in fold over braid has back opening fastened with braid tie ends. View 1 with extended shoulders has below elbow length sleeves and patch pockets encased in fold over braid. View 2 with extended shoulders forming cap sleeves has cobbler type pocket with lace insertion. View 3 gathered to waistband has bib, suspenders, tie ends, patch pockets and rick-rack and apple applique trim. The padded apple potholder is encased in double fold bias tape.

Suggested fabrics: Cotton sateen, broadcloth, canvas, chintz, duck, gingham, homespun, linen, poplin. Potholder padding: Insulated cotton batting such as Insul-Bright®.

Note: Extra fabric maybe needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way design fabrics or shrinkage.

Sizing: A (S-M-L-XL) which is approx. UK sizes A (6/8 - 18/20) based on our standardised size chart. Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread. View 1: 4 1/4 yds. (3.9m) of 1/2" - 5/8" (1.3cm - 1/5cm) fold over braid. View 2: 2 1/2 yds. (2.3m) of 1/2" - 5/8" (1.3cm - 1.5cm) fold over braid, 2 7/8 yds. (2.7m) of 1 1/2" (4cm) lace insertion. View 3: Two 5/8" (1.5cm) buttons, one pkg. of 1/4" (6mm) double fold bias tape (for applique and potholder), embroidery floss (optional), 5 1/4 yds. (4.8m) wide rickrack.
