Margo Sew La De Da Vintage

Type: Jumpsuit Fabric: Cotton [See other projects in this fabric] Pattern Description: Playsuit/jumpsuit - with shorts version or longer legged version - lined bodice and alternate bodice option. Back zip Pattern Sizing: 4-20 (comes up large) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes I think so Were the instructions easy to follow? I found the instructions a bit cryptic in places and thought that it could be quite a bit clearer. More detail about what piece you were actually sewing would have been helpful. I cut out cuffs but still not sure where they should go - the pattern was sleeveless. I think they might have been collar pieces but labelled as cuffs?!! What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? lack of clear instruction. The sizing was quite large. Loved the pockets although I sewed them incorrectly as I couldn’t initially understand the pattern. Loved the fun look. Saw the designer on both create and craft TVand Hochanda TV and liked her presentation and passion. the pattern was heavily discounted on the create and craft site and an add on for the bodice was available which I also bought - love a bargain Fabric Used:BST fabrics (online) paisley skulls navy and white skulls poly cotton £1.99 meter (115 cm wide) Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: made the 14 but could have made the 12. Had to take in on side seams of bodice - centre back and shorten the rise. At least 5 inches came off the trouser hem (still going as not quite finished) and overall about 2.5 - 3 inches was taken in. The waist was only adjusted about 3/4 - 1inch I chose the longer leg option and a sweetheart neckline - the bodice was a princess seam lined bodice. I made this as a wearable toile Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes but either get some help with the instructions or you would probably be fine as a confident beginner or a few projects under your belt (at least) sewist. I am self taught so that might be the problem but I normally figure things out. I would sew it again - it lends itself to different fabrics and different occasions. Hopefully I will make the adjustments to the pattern instructions and get the sizing right for next time. The straps could be sewn differently to change the feel/look of the bodice. Conclusion: I would wear this with a t-shirt underneath - this is just a toile so would be great for casual hot weather situation but think this could make a lovely classy outfit in the right fabric. There are add ons to this pattern to change the bodice I believe
