If you could have one tee shirt pattern...

...it would be this one. I've not made any other t-shirts, but this pattern has so much variety, and with a bit of pattern cutting, it can be even more versatile. There are options to sew some styles in stretch or woven. I recently used a pattern hack on the Papercut Patterns blog and made an elasticated version in cotton poplin, and I plan on making an oversized version next.

It's a quick and easy make, so great for beginners new to stretch fabrics, as the instructions are clear and straightforward, with great pictures to help your make go smoothly. I cut a size 2 for the version in the image using a med/heavy-weight interlock jersey, so it's more of an autumn/winter tee.

I didn't make any alterations, I'd usually have to make a broad shoulder adjustment, but as it's a drop shoulder style, I didn't bother. I'll definitely size up next time for a more relaxed fit.

It's an excellent tee-shirt pattern, and it's worth noting that the tee-shirt is styled as oversized in the pattern pictures, and you'd need to size up quite a bit to get that look.

I'd absolutely recommend this pattern to a friend. If you are used to cutting out your patterns, I suggest tracing off this pattern, as you'll find you'll use it again and again. This is a great pattern that I will use an awful lot.  This pattern is a great foundation to hack into a dress or tunic in woven and knit fabric.

Snuggly Sweater with Style!

I love this pattern! It is so snuggly and comfy but looks like something a bit special. I was going to go for a size M but after reading that it comes up quite big I decided to size down in the bust and I am glad I did. I cut S at the bust and M at the hips as that's where my measurements fell and I love the fit. I think if I had cut the M all round it would have been too baggy. I guess what I am saying is, trust the measurement chart! As the sweatshirt version is finished with neck, sleeve and hem bands there is almost no hemming (just the frills) which makes this an incredibly quick sew! I wasn't rushing and I easily made this in one night. Kyoto Sweater & Tee

This is such an easy and pretty pattern. I cut a straight M but shortened the body by 2 inches and the sleeves 3 inches since I'm short.
