Great introduction to sewing

This is a great pattern for a child to make. The skirt is just a simple straight design with elasticated waist made in woven fabric. My soon to be 10 year old granddaughter made it for herself with little help, though we used the size 7 waist lengthened to size 10.  On wearing it, she found that it restricted her running so we put side slits in when we made her sisters 7 year old version without length adjustment. Both were made in needle cord. I’ve been looking for patterns to encourage her to sew and this one ticked the boxes. She previously made a mega pricey Machine Stars wrap skirt that was ill-fitting and not worth the paper it was printed on!
