Suggested fabrics: Medium-weight moderate stretch knits such as jersey, cotton knits, interlock, novelty knits.

Scuba is such beautiful fabric to work with. This bold floral speaks for itself so I needed a simple pattern with very few lines and no bulky seams to make this fabric look good. I made this dress and wrote about it on my blg

McCalls Misses’/Women’s Flared Dresses 7313

This is such a quick and easy dress to sew up, it was a pleasure to make.
I usually go for a dress with a gathered or pleated skirt, but was keen to try this 'fit and flare, skater' style dress for a change, and I am really happy with it.
The fabric and pattern are from www.sewessential.co.uk and the fabric that I chose is a stunning tropical jersey knit. It is super soft and a very comfortable dress to wear.
It came up true to size and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. No darts, zips or buttons make this so so easy, just a little elastic is required at the waist. I love a dress that you can just throw on over the head, don't you?
I have already sewn up another version of this, and for sure they'll be more!
I would highly recommend this pattern to someone on their first sewing project, easy to dress up or down, cute with a belt and very feminine and flattering.
It's a winner!
