I haven’t sewn a Big 4 pattern in ages (although I’m not sure that Know Me falls into this category but it’s close enough).
Since discovering Indie patterns 5 years ago I exclusively sew with them as I’ve previously not had great experiences with the commercial patterns. However, I recently I have become a sucker for a yoked skirt and this design was too good to pass up on.

I made a toile first as I wasn’t prepared go cut into my good fabric straight away. The drafting was fine but it came out really large even though I cut out the size that best matched my measurements in the body chart.

The frustrating thing about this was that I fell into size 18 so to sew the correct size I would have to buy the pattern on the other size bracket which I wasn’t prepared to do. I haven’t sewn my final because I haven’t yet found the motivation to do all the size adjustments I’ll need to do.

Also the instructions were very basic and the zipper insertion was confusing so I used instructions from a different pattern.

It’s a lovely design and if you get the fit right I’m sure it would be great but I wish there was some overlap on the sizing because I now have a pattern that is too big that I won’t use despite looking at both the body chart and finished measurements when deciding on a size to buy.

I’ve once again been bitten by the big 4 so I think I’ll just stick with the safety of the Indie world
