Buy the Dale Sweatshirt sewing pattern from Daisy Chain Patterns. Dale is a fresh take on your favourite vintage sweatshirt. Slightly cropped with a relaxed fit, Dale is finished with ribbing at the neck, hem and sleeves. With two sleeve lengths included, you can choose your own adventure!

Dale can be sewn on a standard home machine or serger/overlocker. You will sew with two types of knits – sweatshirt knit and rib knit – and learn how to finish a garment with ribbing.

Note: Use the Dale Sweatshirt Expansion (sold separately) to make four more versions of the Dale Sweatshirt, each with its own unique vintage vibe!

Suggested fabrics: For the main body, the designer recommends a medium to heavyweight sweatshirt fleece, french terry, or sweater knit. This pattern is designed for stable knits and does not require stretch for the main body. However, if you choose a knit with more stretch it may affect the final fit and drape of the garment. Coordinating ribbing for cuffs and bands must have at least 50% stretch with recovery.

Fabric requirements: Additional fabric may be required for print matching.

View A Main: 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 1.4 - 3 yd (1.3 - 2.7 m).

View B Main: 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 1 - 2.2 yd (1 - 2 m).

Views A and B Ribbing: 36" (91 cm) wide ribbing: 0.4 - 0.6 yd (0.4 - 0.6 m).

Sizing: XS – 6X (approx. UK 6 – 38, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
