Buy the Dale Sweatshirt Expansion sewing pattern from Daisy Chain Patterns. The Dale Sweatshirt is a fan favourite and handmade closet staple, and these four expansion options show just how versatile the Dale pattern can be! Now you can make the Dale as a pull-on or zip front hoodie with a kangaroo pocket, a quarter zip top with a wide collar and side seam pockets, or a sweatshirt with a peter pan collar and tie front. Each view has its own charm and vintage vibe.

Note: This is not a complete pattern. You must already own the original Dale Sweatshirt pattern to use this expansion pack. If you have not yet purchased the original pattern, you can do so here.

Sewing level: Intermediate

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: For the main body, the designer recommends a medium to heavyweight sweatshirt fleece, french terry, or sweater knit. This pattern is designed for stable knits and does not require stretch for the main body. However, if you choose a knit with more stretch it may affect the final fit and drape of the garment. Coordinating ribbing for cuffs and bands must have at least 50% stretch with recovery.

Fabric requirements: Yardage amounts are in addition to the yardage requirements in the original Dale pattern. Additional fabric may be required for print matching.

54" (137 cm) wide fabric: Pull-on or zip front hoodie, 1 yd (0.9 m) // Quarter zip, 0.5 yd (0.4 m) // Peter pan collar, 0.8 yd (0.7 m).

Sizing: XS – 6X (approx. UK 6 – 38, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
