1940s Vintage Dress B6485

This is a lovely pattern for getting an authentic 1940s look.

I made mine in a vintage synthetic/viscose blend but any light weight fabric would be perfect.

There are some lovely vintage touches such as the hand finishing on the yoke and the high neckline. Plus shoulder pads! Although I do recommend covering them in fabric before you put them into the dress as they don't feel great when the dress is worn.

The sizing like a lot of Big 4 patterns has a lot of ease but with this belted, blousey style it isn't as much as an issue. For reference I made a size 12 as but the size guide had me as a 14.
