Buy the B6179 Skirts and Culottes sewing pattern from Butterick. It’s perfect for an advanced beginner dressmaker. Skirt and culottes have waistband, side front and side back seams and back zipper. A: bias front and back. C: topstitching. D: side pockets.

Butterick skirt and culottes 6179

Rachel made these lovely culottes for our recent Battle of the Culottes series. You can check them out in more detail over on the Blog www.thestitchsisters.co.uk and on our Youtube Channel.

These culottes have lots of panels and process seams down the legs, giving them lots of volume at the hem. They really do look more like a skirt than culottes.

They are also quite a simple sew and if you have never done princess seams before then these are a good pattern to try them out on.

The floaty fabric and wide hem make them swish about as you walk. A good fit and a great patten.
