Buy the B6938 Vintage Halter Dress and Jacket sewing pattern from Butterick. It’s perfect for an advanced beginner/intermediate dressmaker. Vintage Butterick 1950's halter dress and jacket sewing pattern. Open back halter dress has buttoned empire midriff with two piece bodice that gathers into pleats at neck back and very full skirt. Bolero jacket is dart fitted with 2 button closure at front and all in one sleeve. Authentic Vintage Reproduction includes additional size options and cutting layouts.

Suggested fabrics: Cotton broadcloth, chambray, crepe, faille, linen, pique, shantung, taffeta. Interfacing: Lightweight woven or non-woven sew-in. Note: Not suitable for striped or plaid fabric or fabrics with a decided diagonal weave.
Note: Extra fabric maybe needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way design fabrics or shrinkage.
Sizing: A5 (6-8-10-12-14), F5 (16-18-20-22-24), which is approx. UK sizes A5 (4/6 – 10), F5 (12 – 20/22) based on our standardised size chart. Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Thread. 14" (36cm) zipper, approx. 8 yds. (7.2m) of 1/2" (1.3cm) seam binding, three buttons for dress, two buttons and rounded shoulder pads for jacket.
