The swinging 60’s

I love a vintage dress, and this 1960’s pattern with circle skirt is just perfect!
The instructions are very straightforward to follow and are easy for a beginner to intermediate sewer.
I love the flattering neckline and the drape of the circle skirt. This dress is fully lined, and so there is no need to wear a slip underneath. The lined skirt adds to the fullness and final look of the dress. The zip is situated on the side of the dress, and so leaves the back view uninterrupted.
There are however no pockets which I missed.
I used a cotton Gingham to make this dress, my current favourite fabric as it is great value and plentiful at my local market. I lined it in a light weight satin, but will do so with cotton next time.
On this occasion I made no changes to the pattern, but I have already cut out another version. I have however made a matching sash to wear as a belt or head band.
The bodice came up a little large on me, which I will correct next time I make the dress. I love this dress, it is so comfortable to wear and yet looks stylish. Highly recommended!
