What we think: We’ve seen this made up in so many amazing fabrics! For those of you that want a helping hand with this pattern, check out the sew-along.
Suggested fabrics: Light to mid-weight cottons, linens, chambrays, and blends work well for this jacket. Since the fabric will be doubled and quilted to a batting avoid anything too heavy, as the jacket may become excessively stiff.
Single layer: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 3 3/4 – 5 yards (3.4 – 4.6 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 3 – 4 yards (2.7 – 3.7 m)
Pre-quilted: 45″ (114 cm) wide fabric: 2 yards (1.8 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: 1 2/3 yards (1.5 m)
If using a pre-quilted fabric, you will need 1/2 yard (0.5 m) of 45″-54″ wide coordinating fabric for the pockets.
Sizing: US 0 – 18 (approx. UK 8 – 18). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Thread; fusible interfacing; 4 coat hooks and eyes; 5 yards of 1/2″ double fold bias binding (or 1/2 yard extra fabric to make your own); one twin size quilt batting.
