Buy the River Dress and Top sewing pattern from Megan Nielsen. River is a reversible raglan dress or top that can be made in woven or knit fabrics. The pattern features a loose fit, and optional pockets and waist tie for the dress version. It can be worn with the V neck or the round neck at the front.

View A is a reversible knit dress. View B is a reversible woven dress with pockets and a fabric belt. View C is a reversible knit top in a modern crop length. View D is a reversible woven blouse in a modern crop length.

Suggested fabrics: This pattern can be made up in a variety of fabrics to different effect. Woven fabrics ideal for Views B and D include light to medium weight dress or shirting fabrics such as cotton, wool, linen, denim, chambray, silk, rayon, crepe, etc. Knit fabrics with little stretch ideal for Views A and C include stable knits such as ponte, scuba, neoprene or double knit. Light to medium weight knit fabrics may be used, but will result in a looser, drapier garment.

Fabric requirements: Additional fabric may be required to match patterned fabric.

View A: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1.6 – 1.7 m (1 3/4 – 1 7/8 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 1.7 – 3.0 m (1 7/8 – 3 1/4 yd).

View B: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 2.1 – 2.3 m (2 1/4 – 2 1/2 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 2.5 – 2.9 m (2 3/4 – 3 1/8 yd).

Views C and D: 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1.1 – 1.3 m (1 1/4 – 1 3/8 yd) // 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 1.1 – 2.1 m (1 1/4 – 2 1/4 yd).

Sizing: 0 – 20 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
