Buy the Jessie Coatigan sewing pattern from Sew Over It. The Jessie Coatigan is a warm, unlined jacket, perfect for autumn and spring weather. Depending on your fabric choice, Jessie can be worn as outerwear or as a cosy top layer around the house. Try a smart melton wool for a 60s-inspired jacket, or a cosy knit for snuggling up at home.

Jessie has a swing shape with a shawl collar, drop shoulder sleeves and nice deep pockets. The raw edges at the centre front are finished with a wide facing to keep the seams hidden. A nice quick make, the Jessie Coatigan has no closures, but can be wrapped closed and secured with a belt if you prefer. The hem of the coatigan hits mid-thigh, while the sleeves can be folded up to bracelet length thanks to a deep facing or left longer.

Note: Use the Jessie Coatigan Add-on Lining (sold separately) to line Jessie and make a fully-formed coat!

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight woven fabrics, such as boiled wool, melton wool or twill crepe. Alternatively, you can use a medium weight knit fabric with some drape. Knit fabrics with wool content work well for this style. If your main fabric is bulky, the designer recommends using cotton for the pockets.
