Excellent tailored trouser pattern

I wanted to make tailored trousers, but I was nervous about fit and making a fly. This pattern was ideal and the fly worked perfectly. The instructions were very clear.
I couldn’t decide whether to buy the large or small pattern range ( I am in between the L and X-LARGE ) and went for the X-LARGE , but it was slightly too big. However the nifty little tabs help you pull the waist in a bit more, very sneaky. There is also guidance on making the waist bigger so the smaller size range would definitely have been better. If you are in two minds, go down is my advice,
Pattern went together very well. The only things I would do differently would be to sew the tab to the side fronts rather than back, as I think they would lie flatter.
I have long legs and am 5 ft 8 and they are long enough for a good deep hem.
I made them in a heavy linen, now I want to make a wool pair. It got quite bulky round the fly and front stay, so with wool I will use something else for the underneath pieces.
A fabulous pattern and very on trend.
