Buy the Jo Dress and Jumpsuit sewing pattern from Closet Core Patterns. Make a true statement with the Jo Dress and Jumpsuit. A V-necked bodice with a sculptural “croissant” sleeve is the star of the show and can be mixed and matched with your choice of pants or skirt to create a bold dress or jumpsuit. Featuring a beautiful and innovative bias-bound slot seam finish to add structure and dimension, Jo is an engaging sew with a big impact.

The bodice for both views features a rounded, cut-on sleeve – choose between the large sleeve with an exaggerated rounded shape, or the small sleeve with a less dramatic silhouette. The bodice is shaped with darts in the front and a comfortable elastic waist in the back, and the neckline and outer sleeve seams are finished with Closet Core’s unique slot seam finish. Both views have a traditional zipper and fabric zipper pull to make it easy to get on and off.

View A is a dress with a midi-length straight-cut skirt, front darts, a bias-bound centre slit, and curved front pockets. View B is a jumpsuit with tapered legs, front darts, and curved front pockets.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following format:

– PAPER (next working day dispatch on orders and FREE UK delivery over £50)

Suggested fabrics: To create stability and structure for this design, the designer suggests stable mid-weight wovens such as linen, cotton broadcloth, sateen, ikat, and chambray. You may also use lightweight denim and twill provided it has some degree of drape.

Fabric requirements:

View A: 45″ (1.15 m) wide fabric: 3 – 3.75 yd (2.75 – 3.5 m) // 58″ (1.5 m) wide fabric: 2.5 – 3 yd (2.25 – 2.75 m).

View B: 45″ (1.15 m) wide fabric: 3.25 – 4.25 yd (3 – 3.75 m) // 58″ (1.5 m) wide fabric: 2.75 – 3.75 yd (2.5 – 3.5 m).

Sizing: 0 – 20 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This size range is based on a B cup bust and an average height of 5’6″. Please note that B cup does not refer to bra sizing, but rather to the difference in inches between high and full bust. A 2″ difference between those measurements is equivalent to a B cup.

Notions: Lightweight fusible interfacing, 1/4 yd (0.2 m); waistband elastic, 1 yd (0.9 m) x 1″ (25 mm) wide; conventional metal or plastic zipper to match fabric, 22″ (56 cm) long (smaller sizes may need to shorten the zipper); double fold bias tape, 1/2″ (13 mm) wide, 7 yd (6.5 m) for View A or 5 yd (4.5 m) for View B (if you are making your own bias tape, add an extra 1/2 yd/0.5 m fabric for 58″/1.5 m wide fabric, or 3/4 yd/0.7 m fabric for 45″/1.15 m wide fabric + 1″/25 mm bias tape maker); hook and eye closure for back neckline.

Note: This pattern is available in an expanded size range on the designer’s website (PDF only).
