Buy the Nuage Balloon Sleeve Shirt sewing pattern from Camimade. With its balloon sleeves and fitted bodice, Nuage is a feminine alternative to the basic t-shirt. Nuage offers two balloon sleeve lengths (short and medium-length), and a long sleeve extension. This pattern will teach you how to finish a neckline professionally. Very quick to sew, you will need more than one in your wardrobe!

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight knit fabric like cotton jersey, with 30 – 50% elasticity (10 cm of fabric extends to 13 – 15 cm when stretched). Choose a fabric with good recovery (recovers its initial shape after being stretched).

Fabric requirements:

Balloon sleeves:

150 cm (60″) wide fabric: Sizes A – D, 0.9 m (1 yd) // Sizes E – F, 1 m (1 yd) // Sizes G – H, 1.1 m (1 1/4 yd).

115 cm (45″) wide fabric: Sizes A – D, 1.1 m (1 1/4 yd) // Sizes E – H, 1.7 m (1 3/4 yd).

Long sleeves:

150 cm (60″) wide fabric: Sizes A – C, 0.9 m (1 yd) // Sizes D – G, 1.2 m (1 1/4 yd) // Size H, 1.5 m (1 3/4 yd).

115 cm (45″) wide fabric: Sizes A – D, 1.5 m (1 3/4 yd) // Sizes E – H, 1.8 m (2 yd).

Sizing: A – H (approx. UK 8 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: A jersey twin needle and a jersey needle; iron-on tape/stay tape to reinforce the shoulders; woven bias tape for the inner neckline finish, approx. 20-30 cm x 2.5 cm (8″-10″ x 1″) // For the long sleeve version only: transparent elastic tape, 6 mm (1/4″) wide.

This pattern was designed to be sewn with an overlocker, but it can also be sewn with a regular sewing machine.
