Below the Kōwhai Honu Vest (Classic)

Buy the Baby/Child/Teen Honu Vest (Classic) sewing pattern from Below the Kōwhai. This garment is a practical layer of warmth for boys and girls, or go for the cropped variation as a super sweet layer over dresses! It has been designed to fasten at the top of the front opening with a hook and eye closure, button and loop, or ties. The pattern pieces include two lengths, with straight or curved hems, and straight or curved front edges. Patch pockets can be added to the long length variation.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Medium-heavy weight cotton, fleece, wool, fabric with a texture or nap (e.g. boiled wool, fluff and imitation furs).

Lining: Light-medium weight cotton, linen, etc.

Fabric requirements: 112 cm (44″) wide fabric (main and lining): 0.5 – 0.75 m (5/8 – 7/8 yd).

Sizing: 1 – 10 years or 8 – 14 years. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Closure (hook and eye or button).
