FIND MY PATTERN: EPISODE 5
Kate here and welcome back to another instalment of find my pattern! Those new to this feature, the premise is that you send in images of ready to wear garments you need in your life and I put my best detective hat and and hunt it our for you. As a self proclaimed pattern nerd… I’m here to help.
I put out a request on Instagram and got loads of lovely emails asking me to help they find what they are after! I whittled down a shortlist and after a few hours I managed to find some pretty good options. Below is a the original image as well as the patterns that we found and we really hope you enjoy!
Carla wanted to copy the beautiful green dress on the left and we think that the Simplicity 8846 would be a fantastic option if she lowered the neckline a little.
Trisha sent us a couple of images from a designer that she loves and wanted to create something with that feel. We thought the Vogue 9076 would be fab starting point and if you slashed in and extended the sleeves it would be perfect. Now to find a beautiful fabric…
Caronlina has fallen hard for this beautiful wrap jacket/cardigan. We couldn’t find a perfect match but thought that the Simplicity 8990 would be a fantastic starting point.
Charlotte sent over this fab Toast dress and wanted to recreate it – we thought the the Cissy Dress from Homer and Howells was a pretty good match.
Billie wanted to make this oversized shacket from Asos and we thought that the Ilford Jacket from Friday Pattern Company.
Alison wanted to create the dress above but wanted there to be a back to the dress so that she can wear a bra (don’t we all!) A mash up of the Papercut Patterns Axis dress and the StyleArc Nova dress would be great.
Janine is looking for a pattern for a friends wedding dress. I don’t think that we have nailed it but the McCalls 8037 would be a good start, alternatively the Deer and Doe Magnolia dress would also be a great start.
This collar is all over the high street and we got two emails from Ruth and Florence who were looking for recreate this. Keep your eyes peeled on Nina Lee’s Instagram as we think she’ll answer your prayers.
Alex is looking to create the this coat that Betty wore. We have two options for you the Juliet coat from By Hand London and the Simplicity 9015.
