Book Club: Matchy Matchy: The Mix And Match Sewing Book

We are starting a monthly book club where we will review sewing books that we love, so you can see inside and try before you buy. The months it's the fantastic book from Matchy Matchy, and I can't get enough of their patterns. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for some easy sewing wins!

If you like to flick through a book before you commit, I will take you on a virtual tour of the book in this video

We are kicking the book club off with a publication from one of our favourite designers, Matchy Matchy. The Mix and Match Sewing Book is a creative guide to mixing and matching what you already have.

The first part of the book explains Amy and Theresa's process and basic techniques, while the second part presents 12 projects, each with mood boards and illustrated steps. These beginner-friendly patterns are refreshingly simple and fun to make, and suit any style from minimalist to maximalist.

There are 12 sewing patterns in the book available to download (they are not on overlaid sheets for tracing off, as you often find with sewing books) and print at home, or you can upload your favourite designs for us to print.

There are three tops, two dresses, one skirt, one pair of trousers, a jacket, a duster coat/dress, and three accessory patterns.

You'll also find really useful tips for piecing scrap fabrics together to make a bit of fabric, their know-how on coordinating scraps so the overall look is cohesive, and a handy pattern glossary.

Sizing: UK 6 - 38

Sewing level: Beginners and beyond

Price: £14.99

You can grab a copy of The Mix and Match Sewing Book from our shop.
