Tauko is back with a rather beautiful issue to start the sewing year with. Issue No.10 invites you to dive into the enchanting world of ‘Ballroom Dreams’ with designs inspired by the theme ‘party’.

here are nine sewing patterns included in the magazine, ready for tracing off in UK sizes 6-32. The designs include a jacket/vest, dresses, blouses, trousers, a skirt and a collar. I can see myself making each of the Three Sisters collars in some of my Liberty fabric scraps and the Iris Blouse for date nights.
The articles and essays embark on a journey through the vibrant history of balls, tracing the vibrant tapestry of New York’s ball scene to the opulent ballrooms of interwar Berlin.
One of our most popular pattern categories is blouses, so I think you will like this one! The Itch to Stitch Majorelle pattern features raglan sleeves and a delicate gathered neckline making the design stand out as special without being too fussy. I’d pick the optional ruffled collar to wear peeping out from under a jumper or sweater vest. Another great feature is that the pattern includes both regular and full bust options for the perfect fit.
You can’t get away from cargo at the moment. It is all over the high street and we are seeing plenty of patterns coming through with this cool, utilitarian detail. The latest pattern from Juliana Martejevs is this season’s must-have skirt. It features an elastic waist and loads of pockets – including the uber-cool bellows pockets. The pull-cord waist detail is another big tick for the cargo trend. It’s a great one to sew to carry you through spring.
New for 2024 – Vogue Patterns! The latest drop of patterns from Vogue includes some lovely vintage designs, smart and chic pieces as well as occasionwear patterns and a couple of menswear styles.
