I made this in a light viscose and I love it. The pattern was a straightforward sew for an intermediate sewer. I took time with the gathering and used a basting length gathering stitch a quarter inch above and below the seam line, which works well for me and I use this method all the time.
I had issues with the rouleau strip and in future I would use elastic for this make. Otherwise, no issues. With the fabric, I laid it out first and thought about the best use of the pattern. I decided to have vertical stripes on the lowest tier, for interest and so I didn’t have to worry about matching the stripes above. I have already worn this twice and I’m not a big wearer of dresses.
I love dress patterns, so expanding my wardrobe. Next is the new sew over it dress with the curved buttons.
