Made this today in a cotton lawn which I had ice dyed. I made the ruffle collar which looks wonderful. After seeing someone at a sewcial wearing one, she advised that it has lots of ease. I used the finished garment measurements to determine size. I ended up cutting the smallest size in cup D. I usually cut an indie 12/14 UK size for a C/D cup. Next time I think I will take some of the hem swing out of the sides but this one is fab.

Loved this pattern. Bought it when it first came out then life got in the way, until now. This is the wearable toile with a light twill from Fabric Godmother. I didn't need to alter the rise but did need to grade from a size 14 waist to a size 10 hip. There were no issues with the process. When flat fell seaming, I was taught to start with the wrong sides together so that after trimming and turning the seam allowance under, the top stitch on the turn is on the right side of the fabric. I've come across other American patterns besides this one where the turn finishes up on the inside. Clearly, they do things differently there. I've got better at measuring and marking top stitching paths but still sometimes forget about changing stitch lengths and needle positions. Need that post-it back on my machine!
I made view B. The front pockets are good and deep but not easy to get hands into and I'm wanting to reach in from the side. Actually carrying anything in them would spoil the line so perhaps best just left as decoration.

I was nervous about making the bodice as I had never made a collar before. However the instructions were clear and the full colour photos really helped. I loved making this, although the gathers in denim needed some patience. I made this for my eldest, can’t wait to make one for me. I cut a size 14 D cup and the smallest size skirt because I didn’t want it too full in a heavy denim. The photo isn’t great but just had time to take a quick snap before taking it to my daughter!

I’ve made two of these now, one in the longer length and one in the shorter. The choice of fabric and of pocket details make all the difference for this, because the pattern itself is pretty simple with little shaping. I chose a Robert Kaufman sturdy flannel and used some scrap needlecord for extra elements as the flannel was in a narrow width and I ran short. It’s made a really successful light jacket, great for autumn and for spring. I wasn’t sure what buttons to use and had a brainwave - self-covered buttons for the win!

I absolutely love this skirt, it sits flat over tummy and hips and has a gorgeous fullness in the skirt so it swishes.

The cutting and sewing instructions are good, especially on putting on the waistband and invisible zip, it wasn't a quick sew but is definitely worth the effort

I've made a knee length version in denim and a longer one in the wax print and have plans to make summer ones in swishy viscose.

I used a brushed terry because I wanted a warm but smart garment that could either be a relaxed jacket or smart sweater.

Sizing was true, I did shorten the arms and I added some small stitches to hold the hem facing up.

I will absolutely be making more of these!

I loved this pattern, it's really well written and easy to follow. I made a couple of adjustments to fit me better: grading between sizes, shortening the crotch, changing the leg shape slightly. I'm in love with my dungarees and I've already worn them a lot.

Recommend. I made the 14 in cotton batiste. I like the shape of it. It’s easy to make or modify. I finished the neck and armholes with bias tape instead of facings, took 1” off length, 5/8” off sides, and cut the front and back on the fold. I was super short on fabric, hence trying to optimize space in my fabric layout.

I’ve been wanting to make this dress for a while, and now I’ve finally made it I can’t believe I waited so long! No only was it an absolute joy to sew, it looks amazing and is really comfortable.

The fit is relaxed without being boxy. I made size bust cut D size 12 and the fit is perfect.

I usually hate sewing in zippers and will go out of my way to avoid them, even hacking shirring into my patterns to not have to insert a zipper, but this was actually really painless. It was such a simple and easy insertion method that I actually quite enjoyed the process.

I shortened the skirt by 3” to fit my 5’2” height and the length is exactly how I wanted.
The only tricky bit I found was gathering the skirt because I used a 9oz denim, I found patience was the key and a lot of chocolate and swearing.

I honestly can’t recommend this pattern enough, I’m already planning a summer version.

I purchased this pattern soon after it was first released in 2014, and the jumpsuit caught my attention immediately.

The fact that this pattern is still in production some eleven years later, is a testament to its popularity. For some reason, I didn't make the dress until last year, and I am only now sharing my project with you.

I added a bishop sleeve to this dress, and I am pleased with the outcome. I think a short puff sleeve would work equally well.

The dress is both feminine and romantic, with a strong 1930's influence.

I love the Closet Core Cielo Top pattern. It’s a very straightforward sew with great, beginner-friendly instructions. Because of the simple silhouette and opportunity for french seams, I’ve made this top successfully in some harder-to-sew sheer fabrics like embroidered tulle and velvet burnout (pictured). Highly recommend!

A lovely top for your summer wardrobe boxy with lovely V necking , with sewing seams showing on the right side .
I had this fabric left over and decided to do the contrast thread in a bright pink thought I would get away with it on this busy pattern .
Very easy step by step instructions as always from Tessuti with coloured images to follow .
I went for a medium as I’m quite busty and it’s very comfortable. I also go away with some clever cutting out of a metre of fabric

A lovely pattern from Tessuti very clear instructions with images .
Quite a straightforward pattern lots of exposed sewing if I had know this I would have used maybe a pink or green to highlight the pattern in my dress . I feel you need to be able to sew in a very straight lines for this dress as lots in show or at least use a seam guide .
Pockets are quite a simple instruction but very effective.
Would I have chose this as a beginner probably not until I felt more confident.
I like the darts at the bottom of the back gives a nice shape , you could have not done elastic at the neckline and gone for a tie threaded through but I like the elastic

My latest make, and although Edie wasn't listed I was inspired by recent blog: Sew from your fabric stash: spring blouses. I went straight to my stash and identified Edie as the perfect Spring blouse. I've already made it up as a winter dress so knew the pattern well.

I love Edie. I'm a sucker for big sleeves and this fits the bill if you're looking for a top that makes a statement.
