Easy Top Sewing Patterns

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I love sewing tops. They are the most versatile separates you can have in your wardrobe and give you a little pick-me-up when you want something new to wear (and sew)! They can also be quite speedy to make and use smaller amounts of fabric – making them a manageable project for a day of sewing. We are in spring and summer is on the horizon, so it feels like a great to plot some top sewing. If like me, you like easy sewing projects, I have rounded up a great batch of easy top sewing patterns that are far from basic. This list is full of top patterns that are simple to sew, but include some lovely details that make them feel a little bit special. I hope you enjoy browsing this list as much as I did pulling it together… I want to make them all now!

Matchy Matchy Sewing Club Collage Gather Top – the scrappy one

Designed to be sewn as a patchwork or with a single fabric, the Collage Gather Top is easily customisable and comes together quickly. Drool over is the gathered side panels – it is such a lovely detail. It’s been one of our most popular patterns lately, so lots of makers will be whipping this one up! I want to use this pattern to use up some lovely linen remnants I have knocking around.

The generous puff sleeves aren’t just adorable, they will make this blouse comfortable to wear when the weather warms up. The tie at the back neckline is another sweet detail – no zips or buttons here! The Sagebrush looks great tucked into something high-waisted.

If you want an elevated t-shirt in your wardrobe, opt for one made from a woven fabric. It makes the simple silhouette feel more lux and smart than one made from jersey. The Verdun is a relaxed-fit woven T-shirt with dropped shoulders, a faced hem that is longer in back than in front, and a scooped neck with a facing. This is a fab pattern as you also have an option for longer sleeves and it comes with 4 bust cup options, which should result in a better fit.
