Vogue Misses’ petite princess seam dress V9279

Reviewed by kbartman on 7th November, 2017

I used a rayon poplin winter floral from Blackbird Fabrics to make this Vogue 9279. This dress was a quick make. I started sewing on a Friday evening and the dress was fully completed by lunch on Saturday. I was drawn to the pattern by the cover art. I loved the feminine drape, mandarin collar, and flounced sleeves. The princess seams garnered a great fit and I didn’t need any alterations. I made a straight size 14. However, I did make some changes to the dress. I omitted the bow and the buttons. When I had laid out my dress to place the buttons, I found that they made my dress too fussy. The floral print adds enough interest, and I accessorize with a black spaghetti belt.
I love this dress! I feel absolutely fabulous when wearing it. If you appreciate princess seams and flowy dresses, I recommend this pattern.
There is much ease added to the pattern, make sure to check the finished measurements when selecting size.
