Oslo Multi-Position Stole (free) review

This is the perfect pattern for a complex wool plaid you have no desire to match. It definitely works best with a drapey wool suiting. I made mine on size s/m with some modifications: lined the stole with bemberg lining, bound button hole, top stitching. After measuring the fabric as per the instructions, I cut the lining to the same dimension. I interfaced the buttonhole with weft interfacing and made a bound button hole. I also interfaced the same area of the lining and because my button is heavy, I interfaced that bit as well. I sewed the lining and fabric together on a 5/8″ seam, leaving a small section for turning. The lining was very slippy but that’s typical of Bemberg. I edge stitched along all the edges then turned the collar as per the instructions. I hand-stitched the lining and finished the bound button hole on the wrong side, then sewed in the button with a backing button. Et voila! It’s a bit of a glorified poncho/cape but more stylish than either.
