Erica Wrap Dress review

My fabric choice wasn’t the best for this as it’s not quite drapey enough. Nonetheless I got a decent sense of how this dress works and I’m not overwhelmed. Full review at https://aitcheysews.wordpress.com/2019/01/09/namesake-series-seamwork-erica/

The erica was both too big and too small at the same time. I made the dress according to my measurements (44,38,45) and ended up taking a significant amount off the skirt – it’s shaped for hips that I clearly don’t have. It’s too big under the arms and yet too tight across the bust. My size is right on the cusp of seamwork’s standard and “curvy” shapes and I think I suffer from that a little.

The instructions were clear enough. A very strange addition was putting elastic around the neckline. Perhapsthis would help in a drapier fabric, in mine it just feels bulky.

I will still wear the dress on occasion, but it’s by no means perfect and I’m still hunting for my ideal wrap.
