Darlow Pants

In the Folds

Buy the Darlow Pants sewing pattern from In The Folds.  The Darlow pants are a cropped, tapered pant full of interesting panel lines and details. They have been designed to give a new spin to the classic pant and can be worn as an easy and casual option or dressed up for a nice evening option.

Note: Emily at In the Folds will be printing paper copies of this pattern in the next couple of months, until then this pattern is only available in PDF format (Feb 2019).

The pants sit on the natural waist and feature a fly front with zip closure, shaped waistband, in-seam pockets, back pockets and hem facings. The Darlow pants are designed to be quite fitted through the waist and hip, before more volume is added through the leg, for an interesting shape.

View A has slightly more volume through the leg than View B, and features patch pockets, while View B has back welt pockets. Both comprise a number of interesting shaped panel lines that encourage a unique shape and an interesting experience. Some of the photographs have the panel lines drawn on, so that you can get a better idea of how the panel lines work on the body.

Suggested fabrics: The pattern is compatible with mid to heavy weight woven fabrics. Consider using: linen, linen blends, cotton drill/twill, denim or wool. For a softer, more dressy silhouette, consider using midweight silk or similar. Keep in mind that View A has more volume in the thigh / knee area and you may want to use mid-weight fabric (rather than heavy weight fabric) for this reason.

Fabric requirements: View A // 45″ or 115cm wide fabric, 2.4m – 3m (2.7 – 3.3 yards) / 60″ or 150cm wide fabric, 1.8m – 2.3m (2 – 2.5 yards). View B // 45″ or 115cm wide fabric, 2.4 – 2.8m (2,7 – 3.1 yards), 60″ or 150cm wide fabric, 2 – 2.3m (2.2 – 2.5 yards).

Sizing: Sizes A – J, approx. UK 6 – 26. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Coordinating thread, 1 x 15cm (6in) trouser zip (use a standard dress zip if you are using lightweight fabric), 1 x 20mm (¾in) button, 2 x medium pant hooks (no wider than 12mm / ½in), 0.5m (0.5yds) x Light to mid-weight fusible interfacing (depending on your fabric choice), Optional: For inner waistband – 1m (1.1 yd) x 32mm (1¼ in) single-fold bias tape.

This sewing pattern is available in PAPER and PDF format. The PDF pattern will be available to download immediately after purchase.
