I’ve been remaking some previously loved trouser/pants patterns as some healthier practices have meant I’m a little smaller and a different shape to what I was 18months ago.
I loved my previous Billie Trousers by Fibremood and I even had enough of the same fabric to make up a pocketless wearable toile in a size down from my previous ones.
I do find the Fibremood size table not quite right for these trousers.
I’m 30’’waist and 37’’ hip
The pattern size table for one size down than my previous ones is the Size 36, for a 27.6’’ waist, 37’’ hip
However, the finished measurements table gave a finished measurement of 30’’ for the waist
I went with a straight size 36, they were almost perfect, even around the waist.
The only thing I had to do for fit was to scoop 1cm from the back crotch curve at the seat of my bum as my bum was looking a little fabric hungry. I was fairly happy with the result.
I’ve since gone on a research mission on the ‘hungry bum’ and found some really interesting articles discussing a rear crotch extension.
