I made this top in a lovely Viscose challis with tigers on it from Minerva. I was quite pleased with the top. It’s easy to sew up and the instructions are pretty good. There are a couple of bits that are a little clunky in their English descriptions though. But if you’ve sewn a few things before you should be ok.

The PDF comes with layers so you can choose to print just your size. However, it doesn’t come with seam allowances so you will need to add those. The instructions tell you how much to add, and it does vary. some are 1cm others 0.5 cm. I just made them all 1cm to avoid confusion.

I did make a couple of minor changes. I doubled the yoke section and sewed it burrito style to enclose all the raw edges. I also used buttons and rouleux loop closures at the neck and wrists.

Overall the fit is pretty good in the bodice – it’s a loose fitting top. My issues are the top of the sleeves, which are too tight and pull the back of the blouse and the slit opening which is too long. I think a bicep width/ shallow sleeve head adjustment will sort the sleeve issue. The slit being too long is a super easy fix – just make it shorter. You can read the details of the sleeve alterations I’ll be making for my next version over on my blog. There is a review of the fabric on Minerva too.
