The perfect every day dress

The Emma dress features a form-fitting princess seamed bodice with a flattering rounded neckline and inverted box pleated skirt. I found the pleats difficult to get my head around at first as I’ve never sewn box pleats before. I had to baste stitch them a few times to get them right, but now they’re finished I think they look great. The pattern calls for an invisible zip inserted in the back however as the jersey has a nice stretch to it I decided to leave out the zip. It worked out just fine and made the dress easier to sew. The dress features a facing on the neckline which I found too oversized, and my fabric is prone to curling I decided to trim down the facing.
