Solina Dress Pattern Review
This dress is oh-so-pretty but the wrist ties are oh-so-impractical. I wouldn’t write it off though because it’s one of the prettiest dresses I’ve ever made. Now I just have to figure out how to elasticise the wrist hem (or something!) so that I can get more wear out of it. The wrist ties get in the way of everything functional that I want to do with my hands.
But the best detail is the soft folds created by the waist ties – these folds run from the bodice down to the skirt hem, and gives a lengthening effect. Very flattering.
There are also a sleeveless jumpsuit and a top version; so I’m definitely going to try the jumpsuit version next.
This is quite an easy sew and a confident beginner will be able to tackle it. There’s an invisible zipper to wrestle with. Sizes run from 1-9, which caters to hip measurements 88cm-124cm.
The beautiful fabric I used was a viscose challis gifted to me by Minerva in exchange for a blog post.
